Description:
Lamotrigine 100 mg is an oral prescription medication containing lamotrigine, an anticonvulsant (antiepileptic) medicine. This presentation contains 28 tablets, with each tablet providing 100 mg of lamotrigine.

What is it used for?
Lamotrigine is used to help control certain types of seizures associated with epilepsy, including partial-onset seizures and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. It is also used as maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder to help delay the recurrence of mood episodes. Lamotrigine is not recommended for the acute treatment of manic or mixed episodes.

Important Note / Warning:
Lamotrigine may cause serious and potentially life-threatening skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. The risk may be increased when lamotrigine is taken with valproate or when the medication is started at a higher-than-recommended dose or increased too quickly. Patients should seek immediate medical attention if a rash develops, and lamotrigine should generally be discontinued at the first sign of a rash unless it is clearly unrelated to the medication.
