What is Accupril?

The optimal dosage for hypertension (as monotherapy) is 10 mg/1 times/24 h. If the drug is well tolerated by the body, the dosage is doubled (it should be changed at 30-day intervals). The maximum 24-hour dosage is 80 mg.
If diuretics are additionally prescribed, the optimal dosage is 5 mg/1 time/24 h. If necessary, it is increased until a therapeutic effect occurs.
For elderly patients, the drug is prescribed in a dosage of 10 mg/1 time/24 h. If necessary, double the dosage after 4 weeks.

Against the background of taking Accupril medicine, a person may vomit. Sporadically, the stool abnormalities are disturbed (diarrhea is combined with severe flatulence and painful sensations in the abdomen). Gastrointestinal bleeding and angioedema of the gastrointestinal tract are quite rare.
Adverse reactions from the heart and blood vessels appear frequently. Most often, patients complain about a sharp decrease in blood pressure. HR increases to critical values, and some patients are in a semi-fainting or unconscious state. Some have signs of vasodilation (relaxation of smooth muscles in the walls of blood vessels).
Generalized or peripheral edema sometimes occurs when taking the drug. If sodium aurothiomalate or other gold drugs are used at the same time, blood pressure spikes and hyperemia may occur.
